Yellow Canary (film)

Yellow Canary is a 1943 British drama film, directed by Herbert Wilcox and starring Anna Neagle, Richard Greene and Albert Lieven. Neagle plays a British Nazi sympathizer who travels to Halifax, Canada, trailed by spies from both sides during the Second World War. Neagle and director/producer Wilcox had collaborated on a number of previous film projects previously.

Plot

In the Second World War, Sally Maitland (Anna Neagle) appears to signal Nazi planes to bomb England after murdering an innocent citizen in his home. The next morning, Sally boards a ship bound for Canada. Two of her fellow passengers, Jim Garrick (Richard Greene) and Polish officer Jan Orlock (Albert Lieven), seek her acquaintance, despite her long-time and well-known admiration for Nazi Germany. It soon becomes common knowledge that Jim is in British intelligence. Sally rebuffs his advances, but welcomes Jan's attention. Sally is, in fact, a deep cover British agent on a secret mission shadowing her quarry: Jan. Unbeknownst to Sally, Jim has been assigned to help and protect her.

Canary (NCIS)

"Canary" is the fourteenth episode of the tenth season of the American police procedural drama NCIS, and the 224th episode overall. It originally aired on CBS in the United States on February 5, 2013. The episode is written by Christopher J. Waild and directed by Terrence O’Hara, and was seen by 21.79 million viewers.

Plot

The team captures a master hacker who happens to be second on the most wanted cyberterrorist list and was also responsible for a cyber attack on MTAC which resulted in the death of an undercover agent. The team is interested in interrogating him for the location of the most wanted cyberterrorist, a hacker who is only identified as "MC". Analyzing the hacker's computer, Ziva and DiNozzo investigate a warehouse and find evidence of a bomb containing the Ebola virus having been built. In order to get the hacker to talk, Ziva and DiNozzo fly him to Guantanamo Bay in an effort to intimidate him by placing him with terrorists he had previously betrayed. However, once they arrive, the prison's security is compromised, leading to a mass breakout. The prisoners demand Ziva and DiNozzo hand over the hacker in return for their lives. In order to save himself, the hacker reveals how they can find MC. It is then revealed that the entire breakout was a ploy; NCIS only tricked the hacker into thinking they were in Guantanamo Bay when they in fact had never left the United States. Meanwhile, Gibbs and McGee manage to trace the Ebola bomb and safely defuse it. Even though the plan was foiled and they have a way of tracking MC, Deputy Director Craig points out NCIS still have to arrest him.

Canary (visual novel)

Canary (カナリア 〜この想いを歌に乗せて〜, Kanaria ~kono omoi o uta ni nosete~) is the first eroge game made by Front Wing, and has also been adapted into an anime OVA, which is not hentai. The game was re-released for the Dreamcast and PlayStation 2 in non-adult content.

Story

Mika Katagiri wants her band to perform at the upcoming local festival. However, complications arise. Their keyboardist, Jun, refuses to play, and their stage has been cancelled. Refusing to give up, Mika and her band strive to find a way to play at the festival, using any means necessary.

Reception

On release, Famitsu magazine scored the Dreamcast version of the game a 30 out of 40.

THEM Anime gave the OVA a negative review, stating that it relied too much on sight gags while have poor plotting and no character development.

Yellow

Yellow /ˈjɛloʊ/ is the color of gold, butter, and ripe lemons. In the spectrum of visible light, and in the traditional color wheel used by painters, yellow is found between green and orange. It is a primary color in subtractive color, used in color printing, along with cyan, magenta, and black.

Critical Reception

'Yellow' has received positive reviews in both popular and academic circles. Publisher's Weekly reviewer Jeff Zaleski comments that while many stories deal with difficult subjects, "Hatred and heartbreak...are mitigated by Lee's cool yet sympathetic eye and frequently dark sense of humor". Kathleen Snodgrass of the Georgia Review finds that many of the stories are driven by a male-female dynamic in which she finds the female characters somewhat poorly-written but otherwise found the questions of identity the relationships explored well-presented.

Yellow (Coldplay song)

"Yellow" is a song by British alternative rock band Coldplay. The band wrote the song and co-produced it with British record producer Ken Nelson for their debut album, Parachutes (2000). The song's lyrics are a reference to band vocalist Chris Martin's unrequited love.

The song was recorded in March 2000, and released in June that same year as the second single from Parachutes, following "Shiver", and the lead single in the United States. The single reached number four in the UK Singles Chart, giving the band its first top-five hit in the United Kingdom. Helped by heavy rotation and usage in promotions, the song thrust the band into massive popularity. "Yellow" has since been covered by various recording artists worldwide, and remains one of the band's most popular songs.
